Historic Residence in Evanston
The owners of this historic residence in Evanston requested a
design for their home that was an expression of their favorite collections of art and sculpture. Each has very distinctive collections that range from Royal Dolton figurines to original art and sculpture of Erté and other modern-day artists.
The choice of furniture and furnishings for the living room and dining room incorporated their individuality - and the use of fluid, and unusual shapes brought their personal taste together.
The dining room is a merge of antique furnishings, glass and the original French crystal chandelier. The windows are accented by soft, silk drapery treatments that bring elegance to the windows like the beautiful, sweeping ball gowns of Erté. A custom-designed area rug sets another tone for this very eclectic room.
The antique Victorian furniture has found its place in the library in front of one of the fifteen or more hand-carved marble fireplaces that grace every room.
